I’m Chloe, I’m 30 years old, and last year I came back from an 18 month trip that changed everything. I was working in a career I (mainly) hated prior to our trip and my quarter life crisis was a long time coming, as I’d been secretly saving for the Big Travel ever since I started working in my first proper job in London aged 21. I’d always been distracted by the dream of giving it all up to see the world and work out what I REALLY wanted to do with my life. Finally, after getting together with Sam – who, I discovered, was harbouring the same dream – I finally got the push I needed to do it. So we set off with some savings, our first night of accommodation booked, and a couple of guide books. We came back changed people, and our new perspective has pushed us into making changes: jobs, where we live, how we live, how we spend and how we save. This blog details our lives before, during, and after. We hope to provide an honest portrayal of life on the road, and life after. Thanks for taking the time to read! 🙂

My travel buddy and partner of 4+ years, Sam, crops up quite a bit in this blog. My best friend, my confidante, the only person who can reduce me to fits of laughter even in the darkest of moods. We decided to travel together after just 1.5 years in our relationship, and at one point we’d spent longer travelling together than back home. Being together 24/7 on the road was a big test of our relationship, but was also absolutely incredible, and we got time to hatch a plan of how we want to live, which we’re hoping to carry through now! See Couple Stuff for more relationship tips and thoughts on travelling as two.
